After 12 months construction, the Pen Bryn Oer site was commissioned on the 23rd December. The 6mw site includes three Vestas V90 turbines and the work was carried out alongside Civils contractor Jones Bros responsible for the Balance of Plant contract and C&P Engineering on the Electrical Balance of Plant.

All turbines are generating clean electrical power to the Western Power Wales Distribution network

The 6MW windfarm is expected to generate around 18 GWh per year, enough to power approximately 4,400 homes per year.

Completion of this site is expected in early February 2018

Hallburn Site Commissioned

Not stopping there, the final turbine at our site at Hallburn was commissioned on the 31st December. Comprising of six Vestas V100 2.2MW wind turbines, the site in Cumbria marks the 27th project completed under the ongoing strategic partnership between RPM and the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock.

The Hallburn project will provide a fund of over £1.6 million for local community initiatives over the 25 year operating period and is the last windfarm in England for the foreseeable future.

The 13.2MW windfarm is expected to generate around 35 GWh per year, enough to power approximately 9000 homes per year.
