Pre-Construction and Procurement
Once a project has received planning consent, we would then work with our investors and consultant teams to discharge any planning conditions, finalise the community benefit fund (or community ownership, if applicable) and progress the project to ready-to-build.
Planning Condition Management
If we are successful in gaining a planning consent, we would begin discharging pre-commencement planning conditions. Often this involves the same project team as for the planning application itself, with input from other specialists as required. Once all pre-commencement planning conditions have been formally discharged, then the project is considered ‘ready-to-build’.
Pre-Construction Surveys and Procurement
In addition to discharging planning conditions, an important input into the project procurement process involves carrying out detailed engineering surveys and studies. These are only carried out after planning consent has been received, partly due to cost but also because these focus more specifically on the layout to be constructed. This work will include ground investigations, resistivity surveys, electrical studies, topographical surveys amongst others. During this pre-construction phase, the final grid connection design is agreed with the DNO / TSO, allowing the project owner to finalise the specification of the electrical infrastructure being installed.
Engineering Procurement Assistance
Procurement plays a pivotal role in the success of renewable energy projects. We can assist in sourcing and managing contracts for engineering and construction services, ensuring high-quality delivery and cost efficiency throughout the process. The pre-construction surveys and studies feed directly into the construction procurement package, which is issued to contractors for the design and build of the project.
Lifecycle Management, Extensions, and Repowering
Maximising the lifespan of your energy assets is a priority. Our lifecycle management services include development services for life extensions and repowering, for which we have significant relevant past experience.
